The rainy season begins around the end of October and ends in April-May. The most intense rains are December, January and February. These rains are more present to the west of Flores which is the most mountainous region of the island. Note that in Ende the rains are quite violent, they are due to the mountains which surround the city.
To the east the climate is milder. In the dry season it may become very dry, especially in the center of in the plains of Aegela Flores and the windswept plateaus.
